Call to Action: Eliz Markowitz – Texas State Board of Education – District 7
Call to Action: Funds Needed
Please help if you are able
I am running for the Texas State Board of Education – District 7 because I can no longer sit idly by and watch the system fail the students, parents, and educators it intends to serve. Having spent the majority of my life as a student in Texan institutions, and roughly half my life as an educator of Texan students, I have a unique perspective regarding the good, bad, and the ugly of our state’s education system.
Unfortunately, as individuals with no professional background in education have taken control of the Texas public education system, the quality of Texas education has declined. Indeed, Texas currently ranks 41st in the nation when it comes to public education—and there is nothing stopping its continual decline. Not only will I promote issues that matter to students and parents, but I will also advocate on behalf of educators and stakeholders to ensure that all parties benefit from necessary changes to the Texas public education system.
I need your help! In order to run a successful campaign, it is imperative that I have the support of individuals and organizations that promote education that prepares students for either skilled-trade or higher education. To date, I have traveled throughout southeast Texas and met with a wide variety of individuals who support high-quality, publicly funded education for all Texans.
However, I cannot run this campaign alone, which is why I’m reaching out to those people and organizations that believe in my campaign to help make a difference. Your gift of $50, $100, $250, or $500 will not only allow us to purchase campaign materials such as flyers, yard signs, and advertising, but it will also allow us to purchase access to the Voter Action Network so that we can get out the vote to known pro-education voters.
I hope that you will stand with me as I work to reform our public education system so that it benefits all Texans.
All the best,
Dr. Eliz Markowitz
