MEET Ruby Faye:


Ruby is seeking a seat in the U.S. Congress from Texas District 6 because she believes IT is time for the voices of our silent citizens to be heard.

She has more than 25 years of experience as an educator, minister and community volunteer. She taught government, Texas History and American History before retiring as a Ft. Worth Independent School District Secondary School Counselor in 2011.

Prior to filing to run for the U.S. Congress from the 6th Texas District, she served as Tarrant County Democratic Party Outreach Coordinator, election judge and precinct 2181 chairwoman.

Ruby's first experience in Texas politics began at the National Women’s Political Caucus in 1989. Her background includes experience in school board, Tarrant County District Clerk and State Representative District 94 elections.

As a graduate of Perkins School of Theology Diaconal Ministry Program at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. Ruby has served as an elder at the Potter’s House of Dallas since 2006 after serving as a senior associate pastor at Grace United Methodist Church in Arlington. Ruby was ordained as a minister in 1998.

She holds a B.A. Degree in Education and M.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling from Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, OK.

Ruby is the oldest of four children and the mother of two sons and has one grand-daughter. Her oldest son, a Lamar High School graduate and disabled bronze star winning Gulf War Army veteran died last year from the effects of his service in the military. Her youngest son is a graduate of Ft. Worth Country Day School, a business owner and Ph.D. candidate in Maryland.

Ruby's experience as a divorced mother of two adult sons and one granddaughter helps her to relate to the challenges families are facing in their daily lives.  As a 33 year resident of Arlington, Texas Ruby's community participation has grown along with the city and Tarrant County.
