John Ring for Richmond Hill City Council. Post 1

John Ring

for Richmond Hill City Council, Post 1

John Ring is a candidate for Richmond Hill City Council. This special election is on March 19, 2019. You can cast your vote at the Wetlands Center at J.F. Gregory Park. Thank you in advance for your support!

I am pleased to see so many candidates running for city council. Often our elections in Richmond Hill leave voters with few choices. I decided to run to give people options and because we need local residents to be involved in the decisions that impact our daily lives. My candidacy and my vision for Richmond Hill revolves around you, and me listening to your feedback on improving our city. I want EVERYONE in our city to feel welcome.

My family and I reside in Piercefield, a working class neighborhood. I am not a local business owner, and I am not running out of self interest. If elected, I want to improve resources for our children, address homelessness, and make sensible choices for positive growth. We must strategically plan our growth for a healthy infrastructure and allowing for sensitivity in meeting the needs of residents, while at the same time, supporting our local small business owners. I am an advocate of shopping locally, and growing a prosperous community. As an infantryman and father of a soldier, I understand the needs of our large military community as well. We have a diverse population here in Richmond Hill and each person should be heard and considered when deciding policy. Although we may have different needs and concerns, we all want a prosperous Richmond Hill that works for each one of us. I am committed to representing you and your family and I look forward to hearing from you about how we can best move forward.

In a press release sent Wednesday afternoon, Richmond Hill city council candidate John Ring said he is running to help the city “move forward with sensible choices that will improve the lives of our residents.”

Ring is one of at least six candidates vying for the Post 1 seat vacated in December by the death of councilman and mayor pro tem Johnny Murphy.

Here’s Rings announcement.

"Our community is growing, I want to help move us forward with sensible choices that will improve the lives of our residents. Over the past few years I have been working hard with other members of our community, to make Richmond Hill a more diverse, unified, and welcoming community for all. We are achieving this and I am proud of our accomplishments. If elected, I will work with our Mayor, Council, and community leaders, to continue this work. I support responsible growth, and I support listening to all members of our community to find solutions that best represent our residents. Win or lose, my goal is to have people engage in local politics. I want to motivate members of our community to see the importance of having a voice.

Richmond Hill is our home, two of my children graduated from Richmond Hill High School, and my youngest attends Richmond Hill Middle School. I currently serve in the Georgia Army National Guard. I serve as the Press and Publicity Chairman for the Bryan County NAACP, I also serve on the Richmond Hill MLK Parade Committee. If you reside within the city limits of Richmond Hill, I am asking you for your support on March 19. You may cast your vote at the Wetlands Center at J.F. Gregory Park. If you have any questions, or concerns, please email me at: j.r.ring79@gmail.com

Thank you in advance for your support."
