Green New Deal Town Hall with Special Guest: Andrés Bernal - Hosted by Joaquín Vázquez for Congress CA53

The Green New Deal resolves to mobilize public resources in order to transition our economy from one built on worker exploitation, corporate greed, and fossil fuels, to one focused on clean renewable energy sources and dignified, good-paying jobs with livable wages and benefits.

The community is invited to join us as we demand Washington take climate action and pass the Green New Deal with Joaquín Vázquez and Andrés Bernal, Sr. Policy Adviser for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's 2018 Congressional Campaign. The event will be a town hall rally, where Bernal will be announcing his endorsement of Joaquín Vázquez for California's 53rd Congressional District.

Andrés Bernal currently serves as Director of Political Education for Young Progressives of America, and his work with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez led to her campaign's Federal Jobs Guarantee platform and its eventual inclusion in the Green New Deal resolution. Bernal, a Research Fellow at the Global Institute for Sustainable Prosperity, currently serves as a lecturer at CUNY Queens College and is a Doctoral student at The New School for Public Engagement. His research focuses on the Green New Deal as a case study in communicative practice and policy formation.
